Home-School Partnership

The quality of children’s learning improves where there is a genuine partnership with parents, allowing a two-way flow of information, knowledge and expertise.

At St Cuthbert's we value and appreciate the important role that parents play in supporting their children and developing a positive attitude to school and learning. We hope that they will continue to play an active part in the education of their children throughout their primary years and offer a range of opportunities for parents to actively participate in supporting their children in school.

If you need to discuss anything in detail, please make an appointment at the school office to speak to the class teacher or the Headteacher.

We have many wonderful opportunities and workshops throughout the school year for parents to attend to help support and strengthen our Home-School partnership.

These opportunities include:

Reading Cafe
Phonics workshop
Maths workshop
Parent Assemblies/performances

Reading Cafe

St Cuthbert's have begun to invite parents and family members into school to enjoy listening to and reading stories together with their child.

Families come into school with their child, go into their classrooms and sign in so school know who is visiting. Together, you will be directed to a designated space within the school where our staff will share a wonderful story, using lots of reading strategies to support you when you read with your child.

There will be an opportunity for children to select a book of their choice to read with you whilst enjoying some juice and biscuits. This is a wonderful opportunity and we hope that you are able to join us at St Cuthbert's.

Reading Cafe sessions usually last no longer than 1 hour.
