Summer 2024

This week, we have been exploring the events of Grace Darling's amazing rescue of the sailors on the SS Forfarshire. We've acted out the sequence of events and used our amazing detective skills to find adjectives and verbs in a piece of text.

We've also learned about the features of the coast line and created aerial representations of King Edward's Bay in Tynemouth. We used practical resources to create the scene and then painted the aerial view we saw when we took a picture of our models from above.

We also created fantastic position spinners to help us to maneuver Grace Darling's rowing boat around the rocks in clockwise and anti clockwise directions.

It's been a busy first week back, beginning our topic all about Grace Darling. We have been asking questions about old photographs, finding out about lighthouses and creating fantastic props for our role play area.
