General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Data Protection and Information Management

In a matter of weeks, data protection rules across Europe will finally undergo their biggest change in the last two decades.

The change brings outdated personal data rules up to speed with an increasingly digital era. The amount of data we produce now wasn't foreseeable when current data protection laws were drawn up in the late 1990s.

So, from May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be enforced by data protection regulators across Europe.

What is GDPR exactly?

The GDPR is Europe's new framework for data protection laws – it replaces the previous 1995 data protection directive, which current UK law is based upon.

Please read the documents below which explain the updated policies and procedures at St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School which are fully compliant with the new data protection regulations.
