- Nursery: Summer 2025
Nursery have been exploring everything under the sea. We decided to make our own sea life collage: we had fun getting messy painting the sea with our hands, decorated some fabulous fish and stunning shells. We made some octopus biscuits which were yummy! This week Nursery have been taking closer at the things you can do and see at the seaside. We made our own rock pool and have investigated animals you might find in it. We had fun dressing up and acting a day at the beach in the sand pit. We made our own crabs with snappy claws. Nursery were so surprised when they went into the Rainbow Garden and saw our ice cream shop. We had fun acting out the different roles in the ice cream shop. We decided to build our own pool and even took turns as a life guard. Sports day was great fun and after we all enjoyed eating ice cream with our friends. Nursery packed their suitcases and headed to St Cuthbert’s Airport. We had fun playing the different roles of cabin crew, pilot, airport security and the passengers. After we checked in with our passports and made our way through security it was time to board ‘St Cuthbert’s Airline’ and head of on our jolly holidays. This week in Nursery we booked our summer holidays at the St Cuthbert’s Travel Agents. We organised our suitcase together to make sure we packed everything we would need. We used the imagination playground outside to build an amazing aeroplane that took us away on our holiday. In Nursery, we have been exploring the season of Summer. We picked flowers and leaves to make suncatchers, painted beautiful flowers and made magical potions using fruit and flowers. Nursery have had such a busy week! On Tuesday we explored Kenton on our walk looking for people who help us. On Wednesday we came to Nursery dressed as a person who helps us in the community. To finish our fabulous week, we celebrated a full cube jar by having a disco with balloons and bubbles. Nursery continued learning about ‘People Who Help Us’. This week we successfully completed our first firefighting mission. We put on our special uniform, drove the fire engine really fast with the siren blaring. We were so brave when we put the fire out in the house and rescued the cat. It was so much fun! This week Nursery have learned about ‘People Who Help Us’. We looked at the different types of jobs that people do to help us. We took part in Firefighter training climbing a ladder, jumping through a ring of fire, put out A fire and even rescued a cat from a tree. We had so much fun! We had a fantastic time celebrating VE Day. We all came to Nursery dressed in red, white and blue. We made flags and observed the one-minute silence. This week we also dressed as Doctors and Nurses and took our teddies to the Teddy Bears’ Hospital we had fun wrapping them in bandages.

- Wellbeing Workshops
Thank you to all of the parents who attended our Year 4 well-being session. The adults and children loved working together to think about how they will show a growth mindset to help them to overcome challenges. There were some brilliant strategies! A huge 'well done' to everyone! We had a fantastic well-being workshop for the children and parents in Year 3, thinking about how a growth mindset can set us up for success at school and also when coping with difficult situations in our personal lives. We discovered the power of 'yet' and how, with a growth mindset, we can achieve fantastic things! Well done, everyone and thank you to the parents and carers for your support.
- Climate Friendly Conference - Eco Warriors
Our amazing Eco-Warriors attended the Climate Friendly Conference at the Civic Centre, where they proudly collected our Climate Friendly School Award! They took part in inspiring talks, important climate discussions, STEM activities, and even presented our eco-actions to a full conference hall. A proud moment for our school and our planet!

Reception children enjoyed playing games and completing activities with their parents in the Maths workshop. We loved it when our parents came in to the Reception class and played Phonic games with us.
