- Heritage Heroes 2025-26
This year, the Heritage Heroes have played a vital role in developing our multilingual local area heritage tours. They helped distribute these to community hubs, including the doctors’ surgery, library and foodbank, ensuring that local history is accessible to a wider audience. They also took part in our archaeological excavation trial during the summer, uncovering some fascinating artefacts on the school site. In addition, they proudly led our VE Day assembly and have been consulted on a range of heritage projects, including the exciting museum we are currently creating. Their enthusiasm, leadership and commitment have made a significant contribution to celebrating our local heritage.

- Water Safety
Dear Parents/Carers As you may have seen in recent news coverage, there have been several tragic drowning incidents during the recent heatwave. With half term, the summer holidays and warmer weather encouraging more families to spend time near water 🌞💧, this is an important time to reinforce water safety messages. While being near water can be an enjoyable way to cool off, it can also be unpredictable and hazardous. Around half of all drowning deaths occur during the summer months, often in locations close to home. https://www.rospa.com/water-safety/summer-water-safety Thank you

- Procession to Honour Mary
This week, the whole school joined together for our first ever St Cuthbert's Marian Procession to honour Mary in the month of May. The children in KS1 made beautiful rosary crowns to wear, and the children in KS2 brought their school Rosary beads along. We loved processing to church, where we sang a verse of 'Ave Maria', before continuing to our new grotto which was designed by our fantastic Student Council and Chaplain team for a decade of the Rosary.
