Year 3: Summer 2025

Year 3 and Year 2 got together this week to do some reading together outside. The Year 2 children then explored the big yard and field with their Year 3 friends which was very exciting!

Year 3 voted for a PJ, teddy and film afternoon to celebrate their full cube jar. They enjoyed eating Haribos and watched Lilo and Stitch.

Year 3 have been busy building 3-D shapes using modelling materials. It was trickier than it looked but they persevered and managed to make a cube, cuboid and a square-based pyramid.

In Maths, Year 3 made right angle finders then worked outside to find different objects measuring 90 degrees.

Just a snapshot of a fantastic visit to Scotswood Garden. The children loved doing the Hape Zome activity using hammers and flowers to make a lovely picture. They planted sunflowers and explored the garden and did den building!

Year 3 have been busy in Maths looking at different types of lines and creating a picture using them.

Year 3 have been making friendship pledges and have enjoyed exploring how to be a good friend.

Year 3 have been working hard whilst investigating the force friction in Science.

Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic day at Durham Oriental Museum. They looked at real Egyptian artefacts and got to meet a mummy!

Year 3 enjoyed a rugby session lead by Andrew from The Falcons. They practised a range of passing and catching skills.
