Fisher Family Trust – Parent Portal Shared Reading Books

Dear Parents/Carers,

This year, the Department for Education asked primary schools to choose an approved phonic scheme to follow. St Cuthbert’s selected Fisher Family Trust Success for All Phonics. All children in Nursery – Year 1 follow this new scheme for their phonic sessions. These are delivered by the class teacher.

To support your child’s phonic and reading skills, Fisher Family Trust have a ‘Parent Portal’ where you can access the library of shared reading books. These books are for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. These are the same books shared in school during whole class teaching and paired reading opportunities. The portal has videos modelling the pronunciation of phonemes which is helpful  when supporting your child at home. Please click on the link and enter the code to access the reading books.

After the Easter holiday, your child’s teacher will include the linked book that supports the phonic sessions from that week. This will be shared on the half termly overview of phonics and spellings shared in your child’s reading record. Accessing the portal will support your child in applying their phonic skills and improving their fluency in reading.

The link to the portal is also shared on the school website.
