Autumn 2022

Year 5 have had an excellent start to the Year with Irish Dancing tasters, celebrating Jungle Book Day and using our Place Value knowledge to solve problems.
Year 5 were delighted to read all of the special qualities their friends wrote about them in RE this week. In our topic 'Ourselves' we have been asking questions about what makes up 'us'.
Year 5 had a great time playing Maths Tennis to help us revise our tables and number bonds!
Year 5 have loved researching the planets in our Solar System this week. They have collected lots of facts for our Non-Chronological reports next week!
We are loving our weekly sessions with the ABC project, telling us all about our laws and how to keep safe.
Year 5 have had a fantastic spooky fun day! We have solved Maths mystery puzzle, using our Maths knowledge from Year 5 so far and used our GPS skills to crack a code.
Year 5 had a fabulous time learning all about how to keep our teeth clean from our dental student visitors this week!
Year 5 had lots of fun in our final ABC session this week. We got to try on and look at real police equipment. We also had great fun in Bikeability, where some of us took to the streets to practice our skills. Some children also created some fabulous Remembrance art work in class too.
Year 5 had a fantastic Art lesson with Miss Fitzpatrick, learning all about how to produce texture in our art work. They used different materials to produce rubbings of different textures around the classroom.
Year 5 had a great time planning and investigating which objects had more or less gravity acting upon them. We had to accurately find the mass of an object and measure the force of gravity using a Newton meter.
Year 5 are loving their weekly Music and French lesson. This week's we recapped French numbers to 70 and mastered a new chord, A Minor, on the Ukulele!

Year 5 have had a fantastic last week. We discussed how we prepare for the coming of Christ in our lives in RE and created our own Christmas Cards and Calendars to spread joy this Christmas time.
