Snow Closure Procedures

Dear Parents and Carers of St Cuthbert’s,

Re: Snow Closure Procedures

At St Cuthbert’s we take our responsibility seriously to educate and care for our pupils and wherever possible it is our intention to open as normal during periods of difficult weather. We appreciate that closure impacts on children’s learning and parents’ childcare arrangements. However, we also recognise our responsibility towards the safety of children and adults on site and whilst journeying to and from school.

In the event of a closure, we will use the following forms of communication to inform parents/carers:

· Text message

· School Website

· Email

· School Facebook

· Newcastle City Council website: (school closures page)

Unless you hear from us that we are closed, please assume each day that we are open as usual. In the event of a school closure, teachers will share activities for remote learning via our school website or email.

We know these decisions can be difficult, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. The weather can change quickly, and sometimes that means we need to make adjustments for everyone’s safety. If we ever have to close during the day due to worsening conditions, we’ll do our very best to let parents know as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best wishes,

Anne Bullerwell

Executive Headteacher
